MOLK FOLK Ibelisse Guardia Ferragutti
Ibelisse Guardia Ferragutti is an Amsterdam-based multidisciplinary artist working across music, performance, composition and sound. Born in Bolivia and raised in Brazil, her artistic practice is informed by her Latin American heritage, its cultural memory which emerges from a deep engagement with ritual and embodied forms of knowledge transmission. Over the past two decades, she has developed work both independently and in collaboration with the vibrant music, performance, and physical theatre scenes in the Netherlands. Her work has been presented internationally at concert halls, festivals, theatre venues, and museum spaces.
Through sound and performance, she explores how ancestral worldviews can resonate in our present. This process is a conscious act of resistance, a way of bonding with forms of knowledge and perception that have been marginalized or erased through colonization. Through this perspective, she creates celebratory, energetic, and shapeshifting sonic performances that invite audiences into collective experiences of transformation, connection, and shared imagination.
