	MOLK FACTORY
	︎

						“Molk”,
 is a kind of onomatopoeia for a world of mellow, soft sounds. Like small children who gather
objects and materials that have a certain muted sonic quality and improvise with them:
jamming with
rubber hoses,
wooden spoons,
muddy earth,
slapping water and other thick liquids.
 Who can create the
most molky sound? A naive purity and non- judgement to playing with sound. As well-studied, self-critical
adult musicians who dream of returning to this state of play when creating, Molk Factory is this beautiful
entrance to return to this state of mind.”

Frank Rosaly

Molk Factory is a gathering of performing artists and musicians from different disciplines, who all bring their own views and methods, but constantly seek closer contact with each other's art in order to exchange artistic languages.
The Molk collective comes from diverse backgrounds: pop, free music, contemporary composition, sound art, theater, mime and visual arts.

Molk Factory finds poetry in the convergence of this multitude of perspectives, aesthetics and methods. This is expressed in resounding polemics, juxtapositions and harshly edited styles but also in unexpected harmonies of fairytale simplicity.&#38;nbsp;

Molk Factory connects the worldly with the Amsterdam, woven together with forgotten world views, voices from the margins, and scenarios for the future. It is a movement and focuses on the horizon where a wide audience listens to and shares with us.

	Frank Rosaly

is a Puerto Rican drummer, composer and sound designer living in Amsterdam. His musical approach stems from an exhaustive study of Jazz, Classical percussion, Improvisation, as well as classical composition and post-classical techniques such as Musique concrète, graphic notation and chance operation.
This information is filtered through the prism of the Unknown, Metaphysics, ancient history, rituals and folklore of Latin America and the Caribbean. His journey in sound is a study, his musical contributions are offerings.

He contributes much of his time beyond performing and composing to organizing musical events, while touring regularly internationally.

After 15 years of musical exploration and development with over 50 musical projects in Chicago from 2001-2016, Frank moved to Amsterdam to further develop his musical approach in a new environment including the worlds of intermediality, sound installation, electronic music synthesis and Dutch musiek theater.

Past performance collaborations include Fennesz, David Daniell, Rhys Chatham, Tony Conrad, Bobby Bradford, Joan of Arc, Frode Gjerstad, Matana Roberts, Jeff Parker, Thurston Moore, Peter Brotzmann, Tony Malaby, Roscoe Mitchell, Anthony Coleman, Tony Conrad, Paul Flaherty, Marshall Allen, Louis Moholo, Nels Cline, Eric Boeren, Ken Vandermark, Michael Zerang, Walter Weirbos, White/Light, Doug McCombs, Michael Attias, Michael Moore and Dave Rempis among many others.

As an improviser, Frank is currently active in many projects from Chicago, New York and in Europe. Some groups (some older, some newer) include Silverbones, ¡Todos De Pie!, Ruidoscuro, The Young Mothers, Natural Information Society, Eric Boeren's All Ellington, Duo with Colin Stetson, Duo with Thurston Moore, Health&#38;amp;Beauty, Ryley Walker, OKAPI, Bobby Bradford/Frode Gjerstad Quartet, Rob Mazurek’s Mandarin Movie, The Rempis Percussion Quartet, Ingebrigt Haker-Flaten Quintet, Scorch Trio/Quartet, Nicole Mitchell Ice Crystal Quartet, Jeff Parker/Nels Cline Quartet, Fred Lonberg-Holm’s Valentine Trio, The Jeb Bishop Trio, Jason Adasievicz’s Rolldown, Jorrit Dijkstra’s Flatlands Collective, Chicago Lucern Exchange, Anchor, Jaap Blonk's Retirement Overdue and others. Frank has been featured on over 150 recordings.

Other more current projects include work in music theater with OKAPI,&#38;nbsp;Veenfabriek&#38;nbsp;and&#38;nbsp;Nicole Beutler Projects.

He is also involved in a solo project called Milkwork: a study in integration of electronically manipulated percussion instruments, improvising dense sound walls with controlled feedback, over-driven amplified drums. Frank blends soundscapes designed through analog electronic synthesis with extended techniques on unamplified drum set. Frank also studies cymbal hammering and instrument building, and utilizes these physical experiments within this project.

		<description>
	Jochem van TolAmsterdam based Jochem van Tol (1983) is an interdisciplinary artist who works across the fields of visual art, performance and music,&#38;nbsp; addressing sound in the broadest sense: from the raw frayed edges of pop music to minimal ‘forgotten’ sounds.
He has researched
the sounds of paper in the past 10 years in a number of remarkable performances with Paper Ensemble. He is an active member of diverse experimental, highly visual music groups like The Job, Silverbones and SOON.&#38;nbsp; He collaborated in successful theatre productions with Schweigman&#38;amp; and De Veenfabriek, together with artist-run-collective o k a p i. With Ibelisse Guardia Ferragutti he developed a series of sculptural paper instruments and formed the Paper Ensemble.The performances of the Paper Ensemble bridges the worlds of the Sculptor and the Musician.He shows how much there is to discover in the most simple material and how to choose radical consequences from his discoveries. This resulted in a new vocabular of movement.Since 2007 Jochem van Tol&#38;nbsp; has performed and exhibited extensively abroad, especially in Japan amongst artists like Yoko Ono, John Cage, Mamoru, Yukio Fujimoto, Francis Alys, Germaine Kruip, Toshi Ichiyanagi and Ken’ichi Nakagawa.Jochem lives and works in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

 interdisciplinary artist that weaves and is in constant&#38;nbsp; motion in between disciplines.

Inhabiting these art practices as a performer, theatre maker, vocalist, visual artist, musician and teacher.

From Bolivian and Brazilian descent

she moves in between' spaces, which is where she finds enough friction to occupy unknownness, magic, mystery and indiscipline. It also allows her to re-imagine story-telling possibilities.

The narratives that convey her practice come from a deep relation with ancestral and transgeneration trauma, memory and ways to heal through bodily and sensorial somatic work, plant medicine and ritual. Her work is deeply interwoven in post-colonial justice, the paradox and beauty between grief and celebration, Andean Cosmology as a source of reclamation, resistance and resilience. Embodiment embedded in sonic fabrics while speculating myths through word oracles. She is a neo-mestiza, a spiritual activist, a femme defender and a Moon lover.

She collaborates with a wide range of collectives, artists, bands and initiatives a.o. International Anthem Recording Company,&#38;nbsp; Silverbones, The Paper Ensemble, Space is the Place, Fiber,&#38;nbsp; Schweigman&#38;amp;, Boogaerdt/VanderSchoot, Sarah Vanhee, Nicole Beutler projects, Amenti Theatre Company Nineties Productions, Ulrike Quade Company, MTG Bambie, de Veenfabriek.

		<description>

	Rosa Ronsdorf&#38;nbsp;
 &#38;nbsp;Rosa is fascinated by the endless possibilities of
sound, electronic experiments, sonic meditations, feminist
sound waves, eco-empathic listening and trance states.In her work takes
form in concerts, performances, records, installations, textiles and publications.
In her work she uses her voice, synthesizers, poetry, edited
samples, textiles and biochromes.

When we talk about sound, we are talking about the invisible. It
does not provide a complete picture and leaves room for subjectivity, emotion and
empty openings.

 Sound reflects, it sets things in motion and is
ultimately movement itself. A chorus, a river, a highway: they contain
each have a score and co-create with the environment in which they 'sound'.
Rosa's practice is about listening to the resonances as one
possibility.

Rosa composes from silence and deep listening, as a starting point for a
dialogue in sound about perceiving a connection with a human being,
non-human, space, city or planet. She is also fascinated by the
memory. Pauline Oliveros once has one of her sonic meditations
closed with the question: "When will you stop hearing the sound...
When does memory begin?" Can sound be a memory? Wear
we carry melodies with us as resounding echoes of times gone by?
She makes music for a large audience, focusing outward and
seeks connections from the stage with her band and performances.
