MOLK NIGHTS!

COMING UP

APRIL 25
DOUBLE BILL

We will celebrate the release of James McClure's debut album
A dizziness from the unsaid on MOLK records
As well as the outstanding Josh Berman Trio, who we're very lucky to have on their tour all the way from Chicago.

JAMES MCCLURE (SA)
South African trumpet player and composer James McClure presents his deeply personal debut album, a bold and introspective work rooted in emotion, free improvisation and progressive thought, with traces of heritage. Based in Amsterdam since 2015, McClure has become a distinctive voice within the city’s experimental music community, known for his mesmerising sound, patience and sensibility. Although this marks his debut release as a bandleader, the album reflects years of collaboration, research and exploration. The ensemble sound mirrors his inner world and lifelong pursuit of honest expression.

PAST

Molk Factory artist collective organizes ad hoc programs in their own studio and at the Dokzaal in the centre of Amsterdam. A space to come together with a varied program of concerts and performances. The focus is on experimental music, and contemporary electronic music that builds a bridge with improvised acoustic music and new media.

In 2023 these gatherings  resulted in concerts like bands RedGreenBlue ft. Ben Lamar Gay from Chicago, Cole Schmidt (CA), Jason Roebke (US), Muyné (MX) and many more.

In 2024 they co-organized the CALL (Chicago, Amsterdam, London, LA) Festival, hosting their dear friends from International Anthem Recording Co. (US) and in collaboration with Space is The Place platform (NL), hosting guest artists like Ruth Goller (IT/UK), Ben Boye (US), Matt Lux (US) and Marta Warelis (PO).

In 2025 they co-started a new collective with different artists in Amsterdam to start the series LOKAAL, with a variety of programmers and genres of music. Embracing the eclectic and multi voiced renonances of the city and abroad.
As programmers they hosted acclaimed duo comprised of Jeremiah Chiu and Marta Sofia Honer (US) and incredible Carla Boregas and M. Takara (BR/DE) with an opening solo from our own T’IJU T’IJU aka Jochem van Tol.

Molk Factory’s Rosa Ronsdorf released the WAITING casette tape, a project featuring Molk members and other members of the community.
All sales go to Theater Days Productions in Gaza.
